9. Except for Ace Frehley

Ace was the best musician in that band. His solo album from 1978 is the best thing to come out of the original lineup; in fact, he played almost all the instruments on it except drums, which were played by Anton Fig, who later became David Letterman's drummer. He was also the most colourful character in the band offstage; he was called the "Dean Martin" of the group. I saw him with his solo band Frehley's Comet in 1987 - quite entertaining. Ace attempted to tell jokes between songs but always lost the punch line. His personality reminded me of Ralph Malph from "Happy Days."

Of course, I'm speaking as a lead guitarist myself.
