8. I don't know how much your gully can handle

but it also depends on how much the nearest bayou can handle, too. Most of the area's bayous drain into the Ship Channel, which is, for the most part, just the lower end of Buffalo Bayou. It takes a while for all of that water to drain then into Galveston Bay.

We now seem to be in a major "wet season" so work on your gully may get delayed until things dry out. Because the ground has to be able to hold its shape while it's being dredged and sloped. Do you know if it's going to be a concrete gully or if they're going to let it remain "natural"? The latter has the advantage of at least allowing for some soaking in of runoff. They've been trying to restore much of Buffalo Bayou to the same natural state for that very reason. The other bayous will take much more work to restore that way.

Well, it's really coming down now. Thankfully, I live in a relatively high part of the area, and am at least a mile from each of the nearest bayous (Sims and Braes) so no flooding other than minor street flooding and pasture flooding out back. I hope your flooding remains low and doesn't decide to invade
