"Bro" is 100% an insult. My friends own businesses in the entertainment district (S. Broadway). The term is used for dumb males...usually of the fraternity type that have invaded the area. Meatheads. Of course it's not just applied to that region of Denver.
There are certainly other terms that are used. But I can assure you, calling someone a "bro" is very insulting. It's implying someone is a dumb,
Misognist, meathead.
