Conservative religions may teach people to hate (although they claim not to), but there are many religions that are not conservative and that teach love instead of hatred.

Don't broad brush it.

I'm an atheist and am not here to defend religion, but many religious people are peaceful loving beings who would not attend a church that taught hatred.
