Anyone who has lost a family member to gun violence has skin in the game. They're hurt, they're angry, and they feel disrespected.

And the WORST event in American history happened at a club frequented by a segment of our population that has been not just disrespected, but victimized by hate crimes, denied their rights, and who have had to fight like hell to win a measure of equality in this nation--and they aren't done yet. They have a LOT of fight left in them, and they're tough, determined and effective. And smart--let's not forget smart, either. They know how to lobby and bring pressure to bear. They know how to keep an issue front-and-center until they prevail. And they are indefatigable.

I think this tragedy will bring forth leaders to keep pushing this issue--it can't be waved aside and I don't think anyone will be satisfied if that's the tactic the GOP and gun lobby try to take.
