1. The Colt AR-15 has been available to civilians for a long time

I purchased one in 1972 for $175, kept it for a couple of Years then sold it to a former Marine friend. Civilians don't need to own it. Back then, the AR-15 wasn't very common. The State Crime Bureau used to borrow mine for testing.
