"It should be onerous and difficult! Each gun needs a separate visit to the shrink for the buyer, its own insurance policy, 10 year waiting period, can't be taken out on Sundays, NICS should deny you for parking tickets, bullets should require a mortgage and you'd be limited to 1, unless you hunt, then three, the gun store should only be open from noon to 1 on Wednesday, and the NICS hotline only from 2-3 on Thursday!", or some such.
For some, it's all about denial of rights through hoop-jumping. These folks probably salivate at the idea of 3 kinds of ID voting requirements and literacy tests.
Denial through inconvenience is one of the oldest and dearest controller fantasies.
