and many states have age restrictions. It pays to check your laws before purchasing pepper spray for self defense.

Interestingly I discovered several states require you to have a concealed weapon permit to carry a slingshot concealed. 32 states allow some form of hunting with slingshots.

I think your OP is overly broad however is does highlight some incongruities where less-lethal weapons are over-regulated compared to more lethal weapons. It would be generally expected to see an increasing set of restrictions as the weapons become more lethal or at least more able to be used offensively but that is not always the case.
