Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli formed the Quintette du Hot Club de France which really launched the gypsy jazz sound we know today. Many groups try to recreate their sound, some actually get close:

(note the two Selmers doing "la pompe" - Who needs drums when you have rhythm guitars?)
