14. I once had a girlfriend who was a little like that... but she was so bad-ass she didn't need guns.

A lot smarter than this guy too.

I ended our relationship by jumping out of her moving car. Decades later certain unremarkable things still ignite the PTSD in me.

Guns and violence make bad situations worse. Everything is FUBAR when the guns come out. Solving problems peacefully, without guns, is the wise way.

Good people know this innately, civilized people learn this as children, too many of us by sordid experience as teens and young adults.

I've been in rough situations, sometimes of my own making, some involving guns, but not once would outcomes have been improved had I been holding a gun. I don't even trust cops with guns. It's not hyperbole when I say that every gun lover is a potential terrorist, enabler of tragic accidents, or suicide.

This guy sounds like a danger to himself and others; a ticking time bomb. It's a good thing he was caught. Maybe he will learn something.

All the "War on Drugs" is a rotten thing, addiction is best dealt with as a public health problem. If addicts could easily obtain free counseling and even the drugs they are addicted to in a safe supportive non-judgmental environment, then the armed drug warriors and gangsters and vigilantes would have no business.
