8. You appear to be confusing controlling the Senate with "having a filibuster proof majority"

in the Senate. Democrats controlled (i.e. had a majority in) the Senate & House for 2 years
after Obama was elected. As to the filibuster the Democrats could have changed that rule
at any time had they wanted to. The OP just mentioned "winning" the Senate & House, nothing
about a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate.
