Sort of like whoever gets the most delegates during the primary process gets the nomination. And once that candidate is the nominee, he or she is it.

And there's virtually no chance of any Republican making an independent run. For one thing, I believe it's already too late to get on the ballot in some states.

Nope, they're stuck with him. And they deserve him.
