This is apocryphal and decidedly politically incorrect. [View all]

I heard it from someone who covered politics, ages ago.

JFK and Governor Pat Brown were speaking at some point after Brown defeated Nixon in the 1962 gubernatorial election. Brown supposedly said to JFK, well you beat him and I finished him. JFK responded (supposedly again) "yeah, but did anyone put a stake through his heart?"

This was after Nixon's news conference where among other things, Nixon accused the media of making him lose. (he lost by 4%)

I couldn't help but think of that story during the republican primary circus. And I still think of it in regards to Trump.

He needs a metaphorical stake through the heart of his political and business ventures.
