2. I'm not surprised - we watched the GOP lurch into radicalism with the Tea Party.

Their oppressive and regressive platform was ripe for it, and if there are sane Republicans, they didn't try to stop it. I think Drumpf was the next logical step. Even if Trump isn't smart, he was cognizant of this and exploited the opportunity.
