He's full of it. He's a scam artist and, actually, an anti-semite, and given his track record I suspect he actually is just a sleazy sex criminal on the lam and not the brave victim of nefarious forces he has been claiming to be.
Transparency as a principle? A good one. But his organization is now basically just an internet ops arm of Putin's Russia, and their great big "exposures" of late have been less about speaking truth to power and more about things like putting women in Turkey in danger due to having their personal information released. Yes, transparency as a principle is good, but that doesn't mean all information is equal; it doesn't mean someone who releases a million yahoo passwords or credit card numbers is some sort of hero.
Assange's blockbuster "October surprise" was a thing of beauty, though, given that he really had the Trumpkins all hot and bothered that THIS WAS IT IT'S HUGH HILLARY IS FINISHED and... wham! Nothin'
He fucked 'em, and then made fun of the fact that he was fuckin' them in the process; "what sort of idiot would think there would be a huge breaking news release at 3AM"
