because of the establishment candidates they offered in the last two cycles: a doddering McCain tied to a ditzy Palin followed by the effete Romney, who was pretty much forced on them as being more "electable" than their alternatives. Trump is their guy, someone they forced back on the kingmakers and they're not going to desert him just because he brags about being a sexual predator who wants to have incest with his own daughter.

These guys have taken the brunt of the economic hits over the last 40+ years of conservative economic misrule from both parties and the only way to make a lot of the rage dissipate is to reverse that. Regressive, reactionary governments try to accomplish that by enslaving women and sometimes that works. That's why his foul mouth about women won't bother them.

If Trump is defeated, then Clinton is going to have to take this very, very seriously. Progressive policy designed to rebuild infrastructure to attract domestic industry combined with living wages are the only things that are going to restore enough hope out there to dissipate the rage. Without these policies, we're looking at violent revolution at some point and no one will like the outcome of that.
