Too many good memories for my old addled brain. Memories of when Texas was a good place, other than twisters and rattlers. Before it was invaded by the Bu$h clan.
I got to know Barbara Jordan fairly well. I would love to hear Congresswoman Jordan's comments on Mr. D.J. Trump. But, more importantly, I would really LOVE to hear Barbara Jordan's comments on the speeches by Michelle Obama, and President Obama. Again, the good die young.
The last time I saw Barbara Jordan, it was close-up. I put her in a Learjet in DC, and flew her to Houston. I felt her weight, and smelled her sweet breath. That was in about 1980. She lived many more years. New DUers will say "WTF?," but old DUers will remember (I joined DU 5/2001, the same day as Will Pitt).
Barbara Jordan's last days were not pretty. But she was. I'd hate to hear what Trump might say about her looks, but I seriously doubt if he knows who she was. His loss, in the long run.
