I think it's time to start talking about Hitler

27. This election is veeeeeeeery similar to Hitler's rise to power:

- government paralyzed by political infighting
- government perceived as useless and the "enemy"
- desire for radical change
- promise to restore the country back to a golden age
- hints that the career-politicians have betrayed and backstabbed them ("Dolchstosslegende&quot
- conspiracy-theories how Big Money ("Weltjudentum" -> HRC+Wall Street) is out to destroy the country
- "Lügenpresse" - the concept that the mainstream-media spreads lies
- an aura of violence, brawls at rallies, open speculation about killing your opponents
- blaming foreigners and "others" for your problems: Jews/Communists -> Muslims/Immigrants
- Lie so big that nobody believes you'd be willing to lie about THAT. Lie so fast that it becomes impossible to fact-check you.
- racism
- fascism: radical and violent transformation of society and destruction of accepted norms -> Trump calls for assassinations and revolution. Promises not to accept result of election. Breaks every rule, tradition and decorum that US-politicians live by.




If Trump would run in the same political climate as Hitler, if the US had just embarassingly lost a HUGE war and if the US were just going through a "once-in-a-century" economic crisis, then Trump would win the 2016-election hands down.

If Trump had run in 2008, he might have won.
