and I know you're telling the absolute truth about all the union benefits that are no longer there, bargained away to keep people working and being paid during shitty merger after shitty hostile takeover after shitty buyout. Pensions that allowed people to retire in dignity before inflation ate them up are long gone and those 401K plans will just lower your welfare check and food stamps when you're too old and sick to work at anything.

My last union jobs were nursing jobs and it made a huge difference in the way we were treated. Retail? Not so much in those union jobs, not even when the wages were better and the pensions in place. Retail workers are always fed a diet of as much shit as they can cram down your throats.

You did a much better job than I did in explaining why there is no union solidarity these days. Thank you.
