Who is forcing these women to join? BTW, besides honoring the way Mary, Mother of Jesus, dressed, they also want to distinguish themselves from other women in society, even of their own religion. Should Amish women not be allowed to dress the way they do either? Hindu women?

Should male clergy also not wear religious garments, of any religion, to set themselves apart from the general society? No more turbans for Sika males, or yamakas (spelling) for Jewish men? Just applies to women?

Unfortunately, the bigoted, ignorant people in our society will target anybody who doesn't look, and dress just like them.
