*Carter has integrity and is a great person.

My point is that Carter came in on a populist wave (barely), just as Donnie did.

Also, by the late 70's, America was in revolt against the social revolution of the 60's.
Remember the anti-busing riots, tax revolts, and opposition to affirmative action as well as the rising
popularity of capital punishment?!?

Just as Americans become more conservative in the 70's, they are becoming more liberal in the 10's decade.

Will Elizabeth Warren (born into a Republican family) play the role of Ronald Reagan for Democrats?
