(17,049 posts)45. Saw them in Miami 1977...
I was working room service at the Omni Hotel downtown Miami the morning after the show. I got a breakfast ticket that had the name "Emerson" on it. It was a suite. Took the order up to the room and there were ELP sitting around with their Ladies, smoking a joint. Hey asked me if I'd like to join them. I did. About 3/4 the way down the J, Mr. Lake snubbed it out and game me the roach. The joint was rolled in gold-sparkled papers. Cool. That roach is still in my memento box all there years later. They were so nice to me and gave me a 40% tip.

If it weren't for the Cavs winning the NBA title, this would be the worst year EVER.
