...and took it. With plenty of encouragement from Rudy Giuliani and like-minded wingnuts in the FBI.

Not discounting possibility of a Russian connection, but these guys hated her long before the Rooskies got involved. They may have thought they were "using" the Russians while actually being useful idiots.
