I'd say that the primary reason people have children is to operate technology. After that comes stuff like love and family. Technology? Number one use. I fix my mom's computer, my daughter tells me how to use the cell phone, and someday her children will help her operate the...o don't know. Virtual reality machine? Virtual reality machine. We'll go with that.
On a semi-serious note: One of the most effective bond-making exercises I've ever done with my high school students is handing one my phone and saying "Put this on my The Facebook for me. Great essay/poem/research paper you wrote, I want my teacher friends to read it."
