(29,710 posts)They, and all the so-called reporters who wouldn't stop talking about emails month after month after month, and who waited at half-filled stadia for this monster to show up at his rallies while other candidates were having real events all over the place, and who provided moderators to debates who wouldn't ask questions about climate change and women's issues, and news anchors who wouldn't report real news, and the list goes on.
It makes me ill. I don't care if he provided ratings. I'm sorry that we're in the place where ratings drive news, but the media bears a huge responsibility in all this. I couldn't turn on cable news without seeing that asshat's face all summer long, and to the people who wouldn't stop watching him ("oh, he's fascinating"
, well, they bear a little bit of responsibility too.
