it is so very hard to lose a parent. This 4th of July will mark one year since my 90 year-old mom died at home in hospice with dementia. My dad just celebrated his 91st birthday a couple of weeks ago, and we did everything we could think of to make it a grand celebration. Still, I know he was missing her.
Yours sounds like a very caring family, and that your dad passed away in his sleep at home is a testament to that. Sounds to me like he was already at peace.
Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved father.
