62. So who is the arbiter of what's okay publicly and what's not? Can gay couples hold hands in public?

Lots of (idiotic) people are uncomfortable with that. How about a gay couple kissing? Cool or not cool with you? It will definitely "hurt someone's feelings". Do you get to decide what's "comfortable" to see in public? If not you, then who? Clearly there are some behaviors that aren't acceptable (stealing, beating people up) but breastfeeding? Come on.

These are natural human conditions: breastfeeding, holding a loved ones hand, kissing your partner.... we can and should ask why someone is offended by these types of things. Not too long ago, a whole boatload of people were offended by black people having relationships with white people. It was IMPERATIVE that we understood "why" people were offended, educated them, and if they then persisted in being offended, shunned them.

"Fuck you, grow up" is the next logical step towards those who persist in being "offended" by natural human interactions imho. The ones who continue to be offended are the disgusting ones.
