I have more than 500 Customs Officers as clients and they are not very political as a group, much less politically engaged individually or as a group than other federal employees IMO.

Moreover when they go to work they know that they leave any personal opinions behind and are simply busy looking for bad documents or illegal drugs.

In addition a high percentage of Customs Officers on the Southern border are Hispanic (many naturalized) because of the need to have fluency in Spanish.

It should be noted that Customs Officers are not in the AFGE but in the Treasury Union. The Treasury Union was an early endorser of Secretary Clinton:
