"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Nowhere does it say, only if we like your values, only after extreme vetting. Modern America was founded on this rock. These are principals you are throwing out the window upon which your society has been founded for generations.

Accepting your "huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore" is not risk free. It never was supposed to be. It's done because America was supposed to stand for compassion, for true freedom. If you don't like the values of the people who come here, if you think they are backwards or dangerous. Then show them a better way by how you live, by accepting them without question, without condescension and condemnation. Do what you think they would not. Compassion and acceptance, even when you don't agree with the other side, is the power to change. That is true freedom.
