Your interpretation of the Republicans is exactly the same: that everyone outside of their bubble is "Vile" and "evil". The reality is that there are people in the middle who can be swayed to either side. In 2006 and 2008 and 2012 they shifted to the Republican side; in 2010 (before redistricting) and 2014 they shifted to the Republicans.
