(31,261 posts)The former Obama voters helped elect republican governors and legislatures to rule their states. There is a legitimate question as to whether they will listen to a reasoned argument on why their votes for republicans and Trump is wrong for them. A lot of those people elect politicians that "buy" jobs from companies that stay around only as long as the tax breaks keep coming. Innovators that have amazing ideas and local roots, but no money to start and nurture businesses are ignored by elected governors and legislature that trip over themselves to offer tax breaks and development funds to the big manufacturer that will stay only as long as some other state or country doesn't offer them a better deal.
Talking to Trump voters that voted for him on economic grounds involves making a complex argument that is stated in simple, easy to understand terms - that is where Obama excelled and Hillary fell short, as well as Obama regularly visited those areas while campaigning and Hillar did not visit.
To the Stein and Johnson voters and those that wrote in Bernie in the General, FUCK those people, no amount of hell can rain down on them that would make me feel for them.
