6. I hope he isn't too friendly with my state rep, even though they are both repubs.

From the article: “We need to work to bring in high paying jobs into the state,” he said. “Raising the minimum wage is only going to drive businesses out of the city of St. Louis.” (unquote)

How does this sentence make any sense at all? Companies that pay higher wages won't move to a city where the minimum wage is $10? Just what does he think higher paying jobs mean? $9 an hour?

In my city, there is one factory that is almost always hiring (I imagine it is hard work. I know one person who has been there a long time). Almost every store and fast food place is hiring. So yeah, if you want a local job to support your family, that is where it is at.
