I had no idea the change took multiple attempts. It was clearly defeated in the video you link to above.
And given how this administration operates, I think it is important to know which RNC delegates worked with them to get the language softened. And how did they convince all those "nay" voters to change?
Incidentally, in the relevant section of the video, no names are given by the chair, whereas he does give names when they are on other issues. He simply refers to "the delegate from Maine." I'm not suggesting that this was a conspiracy. Probably just a coincidence that the only name I was interested in wasn't given. I could see that the delegate's first name was "Eric" from his nametag. Had to look up a list of Maine delegates and look up multiple Maine delegates named Eric to ID him. Brakey was Maine's state director for Ron Paul in 2012 and led a walkout of some Maine delegates at the 2012 RNC. I gather that he also considers himself an actor. He danced in a Speedo in a commercial for coconut water.
I'd be interested in knowing if you discover more.
