" The appearance of Impropriety, " is always the big catchall. When the bar can't quite nail the evidence, but it LOOKS bad, this often works. I added my name and licensing information as a lawyer to the complaint by Nancy L, which was required for the Disciplinary Complaint, according to her post. Most states won't act on out of jurisdiction complaints, unless you were aggreived in that state. On my annual malpractice application, it asks if I have ever filed a complaint against a lawyer, so now I have to update that. I Hope I'm not denied a renewal, like all insurance applications, they count the risk factors against you. I have not filed a complaint against a lawyer before.

Anyway, I hope lawyers will come forward, especially from Alabama and DC. This is something where our profession could help.
(It is similar to the elderly, but esteemed, psychologists and psychiatrists standing up to DT with diagnostics. They said they frequently had more information about him, than many clients they had met with. They took great professional risks, but they did the right thing. Our risk is not nearly so great.)
