was "DJ Rankin" in "...Tick...Tick...Tick..."

A somewhat overlooked 1970 movie about racial tensions in a southern county that has elected its first black sheriff (Jimmy Price played by Jim Brown). Growing up in Alabama in the 1960's, I recognized Clifton's character in many of the people I knew - conflicted between prejudice and personal decency. For many, prejudice usually won out. But a few, like DJ Rankin, rose above it.

George Kennedy turned in a great performance as the former sheriff.
