I see a number here explaining how they have to go to jail and jumping through a number of hoops why this is an exception and will get jail time. Reality is...

...it ain't going to happen. Period.

An ex-US President, no matter how illegitimate, will never go to jail. The optics would be horrible on the global scale.

Trump going to jail benefits, Russia, China, Iran, etc. on the world stage. In the end, a few of Trumps chumps may go to jail, with a few getting commuted sentences (like Scooter Libby) and Trump will be disgraced. Perhaps his business will go belly up due to the negative stigma

...but then again, how do we know he's not already teetering on bankruptcy. Maybe that's the real reason he's not releasing his tax returns, he's broke. Just find it odd that someone who is supposed to be so successful in his real estate empire, he sure likes to license his name out on just about everything.
