For us to believe that Trump would fire just because Comey broke some State Dept protocol is ridiculous.

For me, the biggest "tell" is that they are implicating the attys who sent letters/recommendation. That was a weak cover and ridiculous and stinks of coverup. If you have a valid concern (other than trying to fire the person investigating you) you wouldn't have to make up this ruse.
