21. He is stuck--he can't quit

He sold his soul for this--even if he didn't realize it. He is so far into Russia that if he quits, his life, as he knows it, will be over. It may anyway. But his only hope is that somehow the investigation falls apart. That is his only chance. If he can survive, his brand will recover. He can get beat in 2020 (even get primaried) and still go down in history as the outsider who beat all of the insiders.

But he can't quit. And he knows it.
