McConnell and Ryan have also tried to muddy the waters, delaying and slow-walking the investigations. There are many other Republican politicians, rightwing news outlets, pundits and commentators who have engaged in an obviously well coordinated effort to discredit the investigation into Trump's illegal connections with Russia.
