DESCRIPTION
The Delphi Connection Systems (DCS) team has an exciting engineering opportunity located in Warren, OH at our North River Road Complex. Under the direction of a DCS Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, the successful candidate is responsible for process engineering for material compound extrusion. The Manufacturing Engineer will support manufacturing process, conduct experiments and specify/install new capital equipment.

Provide mechanical engineering support to the manufacturing process
Measure manufacturing metrics and develop improvement initiatives
Lead change activities for continuous improvement
Develop capacity and improvement projects, control equipment purchase, installation, release, etc.
Assist in product growth opportunities in extrusion
Assist in materials and manufacturing cost reduction projects
Assist in customer satisfaction issues and problem resolution
Provide leadership in equipment technology
Support plant maintenance activities with support and information - procedures, spare parts lists, etc.
Follow all Delphi Corporate, Connection Systems and local procedures

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Minimum of 1 year of practical experience in mold compound extrusion, pelletizing, drying, or related processes
Previous project coordination of at least 2 major projects in support of manufacturing operations
Demonstrated ability to follow machine prints and layouts in AutoCAD, plant layouts and plant utility prints
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays and off-shifts as needed
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Previous experience utilizing manufacturing technology, quality control and LEAN concepts
Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills including, but not limited to, Six Sigma Shainin Red X, or DFSS certifications
Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization including hourly employees in a union shop
Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
High-functioning mechanical aptitude, practical-minded, resourceful individual who prefers the manufacturing environment
