(43,333 posts)if you're a mechanical engineer, you're prol'ly pretty handy. I know my handyman was at one time. He charges me $60 just to show up and then each job is individual. There are days when he walks out of here with several hundred dollars. He's really, really good, so I pay it.
My handyman drives a new station wagon and was able to take time off to care for his father in The Netherlands earlier this year. He was gone for over two months.
So there are these handyman boards you could list on. You have to have the phone, though.
On another, but related note: Here is an article on the gig economy. It's an assessment of whether people can make it doing this type of work. It lists all the gig economy web sites.
