considering Kasich was the only one on the stage who could make any sense, at all, even though most of us disagreed with him.

This is the corporate media chickens coming home to roost. Asshole had the support of the media, who were hanging on every stupid thing he said like it was written on stone and passed down through the ages. Far right media were in total adoration mode. The only real opposition was online since the only way the media mentioned Clinton was in connection with some nonscandal, usually hyped by fake news out of Macedonia backed up by Russian trolls.

The broadcast news will, at some point, claim they were merely misled. If that is the case (unlikely), then they were looking for reasons to be misled. The whole mess was totally corrupted by gullibility and overt hostility to Democrats.

Asshole was Putin's boy, bankrolled by the monumentally corrupt Robert Mercer. There is no way he could have been stopped short of a real and timely exposure of what was really going on.
