A "Back Channel" would be something that you set up through the State Dept, just like the one Obama set up to talk to Iran, or RFK with Russia, that the Retrumplican apologists keep trotting out to try to justify the unjustifiable.
This was not set-up to begin a dialog. This was not set-up to establish diplomatic openings.
This was an attempt to get around The UNITED STATES National Security experts!!
Call it a secret line to Moscow.
Call it Russian encrypted communication, using Russian encryption equipment...ON RUSSIAN SOIL.
Hell! Call it treason, sedition, espionage, or criminal...as that is the only possible explanation for doing this.
