But in 2020? That's the question. How much can the next Democratic president do to undo the fantastic damage this buffoon has created so far, to say nothing of what he or pence will do in the coming years.

IMHO, it will take a generation or more to undo the damage - politically, morally, financially, militarily (NATO), racism/white supremacy. As for the planet, states and corporations will continue to forge ahead on their own initiatives, so maybe the failure of the US as a nation to meet its goals under the Paris accords might not be so awful. But the rest of it? At least 20 years. After all, we're still dealing (badly) with the aftermath of 9/11, what with troops still in Afghanistan, the turmoil in Iraq and Syria, the rise of ISIS and terrorism. And that's only if we can get Republicans out in 2018 and 2020 and keep Dems in the WH for more than 2 terms. Otherwise? Who the hell knows.
