(14,623 posts)That's the very definition of a blatant Straw Man argument.
It reveals something that you had to reach that far down the well of fantasy to find something that you could put beside the concept that some Democrats could simply be unhappy with elements of her leadership, and not that they all must be raging misogynists. In fact it makes me wonder if you think there actually exists a significant amount of people who call themselves Democrats that are secretly, or overtly, irredeemably sexist. I sure don't buy that and I wouldn't support a party that would have that many in the ranks.
This kind of knee-jerk accusation is the most divisive and retrograde, IMO. Because whether it was meant to or not, it results in shutting down any talk of evolving, of progress, of making the party more appealing to the next generation of voters by flippantly playing such a convenient card to scare others from debating a topic that they may think is important to that goal.
There's also a danger by defining it this black or white way in that it sets the stage for Republicans to then cry foul if we, say, call Betsy DeVos unfit for her job. It de-fangs the term when it is used to cry wolf every time one sees a bustle in the hedgerow.
