In reply to the discussion: Bernie was in the same ads as Pelosi [View all]Tom Rinaldo
(22,912 posts)...posted numerous threads here at DU attacking Bernie for not personally doing more to stand by Ossoff and overtly help his campaign. The best thing Sanders did for Ossoff in that race was to say that he didn't know if Ossoff was progressive, but that brought howls of protest here. Had Bernie tried to take the lead in promoting Ossoff more, there just would have been more attack ads against Ossoff featuring Bernie.
As far as I know Senator Sanders has not questioned Leader Pelosi's leadership, nor in an way called for her replacement. Do you have any instances of him doing so? And no, broad expressions about a need for the Democratic Party to reexamine it's priorities is in no way the same as calling for the replacement of a sitting leader in the House.
You are painting a very large group of people with a very broad brush by implying that Bernie Sanders is the fountainhead for all expressed dissatisfaction with the failure of Democrats to win more key races, or the questioning of current leadership when that occurs. It has been that way in American politics literally for centuries. It is often not fair but it is predictably knee jerk, and there are always some folks looking for an opportunity to move up through the ranks to higher leadership positions. That happens in both parties, typically after losing elections.
I support Bernie Sanders, that's no secret around here. But I also support Nancy Pelosi, and I make no secret of that either. Hence this OP that I posted here yesterday: "Nancy Pelosi has been an extremely effective leader"

I reject any suggestion that there is any dissonance in holding those views. Both are progressive leaders for America
