In reply to the discussion: Shame on the Boy Scouts of America and their leaders to boo Hillary Clinton, how indecent. [View all]Pacifist Patriot
(25,185 posts)I disagree that most of them would not understand about what and why they were booing. I currently have three boys in the age range you mention and all of them and all of their friends are remarkably politically aware. My job also requires me to keep up with generational research and Millennials and Gen-Z are way more plugged in than most people realize. My guess is that of those who booed, quite a few knew exactly what they are doing and why.
That being said, even adults get swept into crowd moods at a large event so I don't think it is fair to judge the boys by a different standard. I agree with you there.
Hands down the worst decision was to invite an admitted sexual assaulter and obvious racist to address the Jamboree, even if he is the President (pains me to type that too). I don't care if it is a tradition. The people who extended the invitation could have predicted this and broken with that tradition.
