In reply to the discussion: Words you would use to describe Republican voters. [View all]freshwest
(53,661 posts)48. Bootlickers, who fawn over the rich and stab their equals to get ahead.
They are much like the people they vote for. They refuse to acknowledge the debt they own to others, seek to stand above their fellows to get ahead, because they are thieves at heart. Their leaders and heroes are defined by their Venality:
Venality is a vice associated with being bribeable or of selling one's services or power, especially when one should act justly instead. In its most recognizable form, dishonesty, venality causes people to lie and steal for their personal advantage, and is related to bribery and nepotism, among other vices.
Every bagger that has gotten into office has sold his honor to the highest bidder under the cover of false ideology an installed their unqualifed family to feed off the public trough to do them favors, which is nepotism.
Venality in its mild form is a vice notable especially among those with government or military careers. In these fields, one is supposed to act with justice and honor and not accept bribes. That ensures that the organization is not susceptible to self-interested parties. For people to accept settlements and legislation, the acts of the government must be seen as just. This perception enhances the legitimacy of the government.
Their disdain for the public in the laws they pass is obvious, just as their hatred for government regulation. They intend to plunder so they resist good governance and claim all government is evil, in order to get the public to turn a blind eye to what they do.
Venality is a term often used with reference to pre-revolutionary France, where it describes the then-widespread practice of selling administrative positions within the government to the highest bidder, especially regarding the Nobles of the Robe.
See my reference to nepotism, then consider DHS, DOD, etc. contracting and all the other bastardizations of agencies to feed directly into the hands of the rich, and their push for privatization. Not to make life better for citizens, but only their own cabals.

I've almost given up on the human race watching these slugs turned thugs spew their hatred and distortions on the rest of us. I can actually see why people seek riches in order to escape this coarse, cruel, mindless mob.

While it's easy to throw various insulting adjectives, the core one I'd use is "afraid."
