We have been incrementally been backsliding toward fascism my entire adult life - I had heartburn over it starting in the early 90s.
The pace picked up markedly with the 2010 mid terms and quite honestly hit overdrive from the point at which 45 grabbed ahold of the R nomination, and we are moving at warp speed now.
Rs ALREADY have next to no concern about electoral consequences, if they don't get severely punished in 2018, they will take that as complete validation and we are likely to see things we never imagined.
