saying that care under socialized medicine is not good, you have to wait for elective surgeries, etc. etc. is to wave the flag and say to them "Sure, but this is the United States! Do you think we couldn't do it better than anybody else? We have the know-how to fix all those problems!"

BTW I remember when Medicare was being proposed and you should have seen the pearl-clutching over "socialized medicine" back then. Doctors were soiling their drawers over the possible drop in income--and now doctors can pretty much print money on Medicare.
